New MME goodies from Scraptastic Store

Oh that Food and Wine Festival. It was so yummy and we took so many photos. You will be seeing it alot as I attempt to scrap this vacation. One of the most attractive booths was Puerto Rico and I wanted pretty light crisp tropical looking products to go with my photos. They had this gorgeous fountain of plants and actual little pineapples growing. I combined papers from the awesome MME Hello World  and On Trend collections, floral paper from the I Am collection by Simple Stories, and a Pineapple from Dear Lizzy Serendipity. I have a full list of links to the products below in the Scraptastic Store.

I cut a strip of the floral paper for the lower edge of the layout and then cut out a couple of flowers to use like die cuts. This floral paper is fantastic for cutting out. I used the grey woodgrain Thickers for this page and I am noticing that I really love this alpha because it just goes with everything and doesn't overpower the page.

What do you think of map papers? I am really loving this one because it has great colors and I can cut places out for travel layouts. They even have Puerto Rico listed there so I had to put a little piece on my layout. These cute sequins are from the On Trend collection by MME and because they have some larger fun shapes, They are pretty easy to stitch down. Don't forget when you have sequins to stitch down, hold the edges in place with a strip of not too sticky washi tape, stitch the exposed sequins and then carefully pull off the washi.

March Sketchy Thursday at Scraptastic!

Ok Sketchy Thursdays are fun because you can play along for a chance at the monthly prize on the Scraptastic Blog and you get to be inspired by the best Design Team ever! But this Sketchy Thursday is just overflowing with inspiration, lots of our designers played along and created some gorgeous pages with the beautiful March kits. Check it out HERE - I promise you will be inspired to play along! Honestly, I don't always like my sketches after creating a page, but this one I will do again. :)

For my page I used the fantastic March Rivers and Roads kit and Add On kit and you really cant go wrong with this kit, but the cut file and printable tags inspired me this time. I should mention that at Scraptastic you can also purchase just the two print files and cut files digitally aside from the kits if you love those kinds of things as much as I do. I also added the freaking cute bunny and egg hunt stamps from the Sentiments Series V.6 Stamp Set.

My sons are grown but on holidays like Easter you want them to have fun and you have to enjoy messing with them a little.

I just have to point out the really nice wood veneer "grow" - It was nice as wood but I wanted it to be gold so I heat embossed it to go with my bunny that I stamped onto vellum and heat embossed. oh also I totally forgot to put the whiskers on my bunny but I still think he is pretty cute.

Say Cheese II and Enchanted : Scraptastic Club Store

Today I have 2 layouts using the New Say Cheese II and Enchanted collections by Simple Stories from the Scraptastic Club Store. These are just some great papers and embellishments that are fantastic for your Disney layouts. New with this second Say Cheese collection and Enchanted collection are some fun and very versatile embellishments like photo overlays and wood veneers. For both of my layouts I also used the Desktop Embossing Folder which is a star background design that coordinates perfectly with these collections.

Magic Begin 600Supplies: Becky Higgins - Project Life- Desktop Embossing Folder, Simple Stories - Say Cheese II - Laughter Paper, Simple Stories - Say Cheese II - Say Cheese PaperSimple Stories - Say Cheese II - Never Grow Up Paper, Simple Stories - Say Cheese II - Snap Cards, Simple Stories - Say Cheese II - Enamel Dots, Simple Stories - Say Cheese II - Wood Veneers , Simple Stories - Enchanted - Wood Veneers Simple Stories - Say Cheese II - Bits and Pieces, Simple Stories, Say Cheese II - Photo Stickers, Simple Stories - Say Cheese II - Stickers

I used a scrap of vellum from my stash with the star design Desktop Embossing Folder for a little extra dimension under my photo layer. To dress up my wood veneers on this page, I gave some of them a white wash of paint and sanded the edges, and then for the camera and tiny heart, I heat embossed with black tinsel embossing powder to give it a glossy surface.

This cute little cloud is actually from the Enchanted Wood Veneers, these two collections work so perfectly together.

I splattered my page with a little gold mist to coordinate with the fantastic gold accents of this collection.

For my second layout, I used the Enchanted collection and again used a layer of star embossed vellum under my photos. I just love the way it works with these collections. The Enchanted collection has some gorgeous soft colors with the most wonderful grey chevron with flowers and the accents in this collection are silver. I was inspired to use a couple of photos of this princess that I snapped in Epcot France, she was so perfectly Aurora. The colors and designs in this collection will be ideal for alot of areas of the parks and I am thinking Tea Cups as well. They would be perfect for Easter layouts as the papers and many embellishments are not specifically themed.

I chose to create a white on white title to use with the "princess" die cut and the  "Once Upon a Time" banner. The sequins from the My Minds Eye - I Do - Fancy That Sequins Pack work perfectly for my sprinkled design.

2 layouts with the Rivers and Roads kits - Scraptastic Club

I have two layouts to show you that I shared on todays Scraptastic Club Blog First if you haven't seen the March kits, check them out HERE!  You just have to see the sparkly springy "Rivers and Roads" kit and Add on kit that I have used for my two layouts. First I have to apologize for my layout photos this time as I had to take them indoors and they just do not do the layouts justice. This first layout is my sister when we found the huge hydrangeas for her wedding bouquets so I chose to keep the page light and soft. I chose this nice light background print and then cut the top 1 1/2" and reversed it because it coordinates so nicely.

The floral die cut pieces that are peeking out from the top of the page and the strip of patterned paper are actually one die cut that I have cut in half to appear to be two elements. I wanted to use the "Remember This" image from the Rivers and Roads stamp set without it being too bold, so I inked the stamp with black ink, stamped on a scrap of paper and then onto my layout a couple of times. I painted a sheer amount of gold mist using a paint brush inside the letters.

The rose patterned paper was perfect under my photo, but to soften it a bit, I added a piece of vellum from my stash. So many of the die cuts in this kit have the bronzy gold foil accents for just a little shine, but they are tricky to capture nicely in a photo.

For my second layout I was totally inspired to scrap a couple of my photos of Marie because of the awesome pink bows in the kit! I just love those bows and this has to be the most perfect use.

This Time I used the "Remember" stamp as sort of a design element by stamping it a few times under the piece of white cardstock piece I cut and the teal dot transparency. The "favorite" element is a chipboard piece that I layered over a gold foil wreath shape sticker and the you and me is also a sticker that I mounted with adhesive foam tape. There are so many wonderful little pieces like these in this kit.

I just loved the pink camera sticker but it was looking flat next to the bow and puffy scallop so I attached it with adhesive foam tape. If you are loving little gold accents as much as I am lately, this is the kit for you!

Paper Inspiration - Scraptastic Club Store

Where do you find inspiration? I was thinking about this as I worked on my layout because I was totally inspired by one of the papers. I used mostly the Thinking of You paper from the  "Happy Day" collection by Pebbles. This collection has very crisp clear designs in vibrant colors. Its really a great collection to have on hand for just about any photos.

Today Starbucks 600 Supplies: Pebbles - Happy Day - Thinking of you paper, Pebbles - Happy Day - Blooms Paper Pebbles - Happy Day - Garden Walk Paper, Echo Park Paper - Anything Goes - Floating Feathers Paper Pebbles - We Go Together - Be Mine Paper, Pebbles - We Go Together - Heart Confetti, Freckled Fawn - Paper Clips - Retro Star Clips, Freckled Fawn - Paper Clips - Long Arrow Red, Freckled Fawn - Enamel Dew Drops - Classic

This is the Thinking of You paper that inspired my layout. I purchased two sheets because I knew I would want to use the white side with the grid for a background, but of course I wanted to be able to use these wonderful squares and rectangles. I saw the little to go cups and thought of my photos from Epcot and then I decided to do a grid type layout with squares and rectangles using my photos and the elements on this paper.

I cut the "let's go" from the "Let's just go" block and layered over flowers cut from papers and the green square block from the paper above. I punched the corrugated Starbucks logo from the coffee sleeve that I kept from my trip. I keep lots of little things from my trips and I am trying harder to incorporate them into my layouts.

I printed my journaling on a scrap of vellum from my stash and the trick with printing on vellum and having it dry properly is to use a thinner font and set your printer to plain paper on a medium or draft quality setting so that it doesn't lay down too much ink. It will dry very quickly.

I added the heart confetti pieces with foam tape for a little dimension and the red star and arrow clips add just the right amount of dimension and another media type. I hope you will try some of this "Happy Day" collection because it really is one of my favorite new collections
