Happy Holidays Sketchy Thursday from Scraptastic

Happy Holidays! I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season and I would like to share a sketch and some inspiration. Christmas Eve was Sketchy Thursday at Scraptastic Club Blog and although I know most of you have no time right now to scrapbook, maybe just taking a break for some inspiration will be nice.
Here's the Sketch

For my layout I used the December "All I Want For Christmas Is You" kit and Add on Kit

Christmas-morning-600

I love the acrylic present shapes and the little puffy trees. There are just so many cute elements in this kit. The glittery Thickers alphas made me want more sparkle so I used some Stickles glittery paint for the snowflakes.

Pinterest Monday at Scraptastic Club

It's time for another Pinterest Monday at Scraptastic Club Blog. Today Carol Monson and I have chosen a Pinterest image that has several geometric designs.
Click HERE to see the beautiful layout that Carol created

For my layout I used the "All I want for Christmas" kit and Add on kit. I loved the look of the two triangles in the top right image that create a diamond shape and the dots between them so I recreated that design on the background of my layout using patterned paper scraps and the puffy sticker dots.

Day and Night 600

I thought of these photos right away. I love that the green triangles kind of look like the tree. And just look at this fantastic acrylic snowflake!

Home for the Holidays *DCWV

Have you seen the new DCWV Home For The Holidays Stack? Its got the perfect reds and greens that you need for your holiday photos but it also has black which I love because it seems everyone likes to wear black during the holidays in most of my photos. This is not a good photo because I was in a hurry. Lots of gift buying left to do. ;)

For my layout I used mostly the Home For the Holidays Stack, but the little piece that I cut from a journaling spot for the title is actually from the DCWV Merry Memories Stack which is also new and it might just be my favorite for this year so you will see a layout soon, I hope. I also die cut snowflakes from some DCWV white glittered paper and of course I added some DCWV gold foil patterned vellum.

and here is a close up because these papers have glittered accents that I am not really capturing well. I cut the poinsettias from one of the papers and just layered. In the upper right I added the words "love it" that I cut from one of the patterned papers that has holiday words all over.

Sketchy Inspiration from Scraptastic Club

I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season.  I have been so busy that I had forgotten to share the layout that I made for the November Sketchy Thursday at Scraptastic Club. Visit Scraptastic's Blog HERE to be completely inspired by the amazing layouts from our design team

For my layout I scrapped a layout from last November when we had breakfast with Pooh one morning. I used the beautiful November Ain't No Sunshine kit, Add on Kit, Digital Cut file, and stamps from the Feels Like Home Stamp Set and Foodie Stamp Set which I will share an image of below.

I just love this little place setting stamp and it is exactly the right size for me to punch a white cardstock Pooh to put behind the plate, so I stamped on vellum and heat embossed with gold. I might need to apologize now for how many times I will use that stamp! I also gold embossed a couple of the label image stamps. I cut the digital cut file from vellum and it works beautifully but you really have to be patient when removing it from the mat or it will tear.

Here is the Foodie Stamp set. Isn't it perfect!

Thank You Butterfly Card * Scraptastic Club kit

So you know when you need a card for someone and you just don't think you have time to make one? I am bad about not making cards so I decided to buy some cheater cards. I got basic thank you notes that had a big open center and I could just add some nice embellishment. Today I needed a thank you for a sweet friend and I used some of the extra goodies from the Scraptastic Aint No Sunshine kit and Add on Kit. I love layering embellishments and a couple of scraps of patterned papers were exactly the size I needed too.

& Piglet Too! Scraptastic Aint No Sunshine

This month I just had to have both of the Scraptastic Club kits and I just totally love everything about the Aint No Sunshine kit and Add on Kit. For this layout I also used a couple of stamps from the Aint No Sunshine Stamp Set and Feels Like Home Stamp Set.

Oh I just noticed I also used the cute scalloped frame from the Feels like Home Kit. The metallic gold in this kit really adds so much to the layout but it doesn't photograph well at all.

I really love these two stamp sets for adding a little bit to any layout. I stamped the geotag on my journaling card at the top and the "I want to remember these Moments" at the bottom. I stamped the circle tag image on vellum and heat embossed with gold and I was happy to find that it is exactly the perfect size for flair to go in the center. I will have to stamp a bunch of these and punch them out so I have them ready for other layouts.

Pretty Fall with Scraptastic's Feels Like Home kit

I don't really get nice fall color except for a couple of pretty trees in my yard and they turn just before Christmas. Last year I got a very nice photo and the blues and corals were perfect for the Scraptastic Club November Feels Like Home kits.

I used the Feels Like Home Kit, Add on Kit, and the Aint No Sunshine Digital cut file.
I just love the metallic washi tapes in this kit, but the puffy fox has to be my favorite thing.

Pinterest Monday with the Scraptastic Feels Like Home kit

I hope you are ready for some scrapping because my fellow Scraptastic Design Team member Kay Rogers found this fun Pinterest image that will get your scrappy gears turning. There are so many elements that you can pull from this design to inspire your layout. Visit the Scraptastic Club Blog here for lots of Inspiration and to see Kay's Page and the cut file she created to share with everyone.

For my layout I was inspired by the over all linear design, gorgeous fall colors and woodgrain. I used the November Feels Like Home kit and Add on Kit, and I began with this woodgrain background paper.

Walking Miss Bella

I love the way the grid design in the inspiration piece has gaps between the shapes so I left a gap between my blocks. I also like the look of it being broken up with the circle shapes so I cut into one of my rectangle strips and inserted a heart. I always like to use the little envelopes from the flair in the kits. They make fantastic confetti pockets.

Inspired by the circles a bit more, I used circles punched from patterned papers to take the place of one of the triangle shapes.

October Sketchy Thursday *Scraptastic Club

Time to share another Sketchy Thursday...a bit late.  This one was fun for me and I hope you guys will find time to play along for a chance at the monthly prize.

2015 10 Scraptastic

For my example I have used the This is Halloween Kit, Add on Kit, and Digital Print and Cut files.

And a little close up because the bits and pieces in this kit are just too fun with sparkle.

Catching up

Sometimes I forget to post some of the layouts that I just do for fun. I thought I would share a couple of recent layouts today that are disney pages that I don't think I have posted here. Not alot of info here or close ups, just sharing quickly because I thought you might like to see them.

Bioluminescent: This one is just fun and I love the title. LOL!

Chef Mickey's : Have to share this one with a close up because the "Sweet Girl" collection from EP is so cute but also because I played with my Fuse tool. Super fun

a close up of my confetti 20

City Sidewalks: I am trying to use more photos on pages so that my Albums don't take over the world. It's tricky to put three large photos on one page and not get all cluttered, but I like this one. Did you notice there isn't a title? not sure how I feel about that

Heigh Ho: this one that I totally copied from my scrappy friend Orlanda. Great paper choice and layout so I just did what she did.

Indiana Jones: And finally this one because I used some digi print and cut files. Gotta do that more. ...and see, 3 photos. :)

Snow Balls: Because it's fun.

This is Halloween *October Scraptastic Club

Today on the Scraptastic Club Blog I am sharing a couple of my halloween layouts using the This is Halloween Kit, Add on Kit, Digital Print and Cut files, and Stamp Set.  This is a fun kit to play with even if you don't have school aged kids. For my first layout I made a page using 3 photos from last Halloween.

Boo

My guys are grown, but they do come over, we hand out candy, watch movies, and have grown up treats. Since we had a apple theme with our food last year, I stamped the row of pumpkins stamp on my journaling sticker and it kind of looks like apples, which is cool. I just love these word and star black glitter Thickers, they are even better in person.

boo 2

For this page, I also used the October This Life Noted Digital Cut file (here), and I added pieces of one of the patterned papers behind some of the triangles.  Of course the best part is the cute little exclusive vellum die cut ghost.

boo 1

Now for my second layout I have a little flash back. I had some of my dad's old slides printed and this was one of them. I just love the old retro cookie cutter costumes with those silly masks that you can't see through.

halloween 1968

I like to make a circle of fun embellishments on pages and this kit has some fantastic little enamel shapes as well as exclusive puffy stickers and super cute die cuts. The stamp set has a row of scattered stars, but I only wanted a few in each spot so I carefully inked only 3 of the stars and stamped around my circle in clusters. I used the black glittered Thickers for a title again and one very cool thing about these is that they are so flexible that I easily made an arc with the title "halloween".

When I stamped the stars I used a watercolor brush with watercolor pencils to paint them orange. I had to share a close up because the epoxy kitty is just too darn cute.

Vintage Halloween *October Scraptastic Club kit

Today I am going to share my first layout using the October "This is Halloween" kit, Add on kit, and the digital Print and Cut files. The exclusive digital elements are one of the things that I really look forward to each month with Scraptastic's kits. If you haven't used them, be sure to check them out this month. There is a cut file, a print and cut label sheet, and a print and cut die cut sheet to coordinate with each kit. Of course you can use a die cutting machine like the Silhouette machines, but you can print the labels or die cuts and cut them out by hand as well.

For my layout I used a white cardstock background, a couple of small pieces of patterned papers, and all of the labels and die cuts are the digital files from this kit.

I used some Thickers Alphas from a past kit for my title along with the Halloween spider web digital cut file. I cut it from clear vellum from my stash.

Tip: if you cut designs from vellum, you need an older mat or it be too sticky, and when you try to take the vellum off, it will tear. Remove it very slowly and carefully using a tool like a spatula. I have two tears in mine, but they don't really show so I don't mind.

Around the perimeter of the white cardstock background I drew two lines with a black marker and then filled in with an orange colored pencil.

DCWV October Stack-a-holic Sketch challenge

It's time for the October Stack-a-holic Sketch Challenge at DCWV's Blog. If you love DCWV stacks, CLICK HERE to see all of the inspiration and to play along.

Here's the sketch, #151 from Sketch Savvy

And for my example I used the new DCWV Spooky Delight Stack

I also used gold dot vellum from the 6x6 Foiled Vellum stack, but in these photos it totally looks black, just believe me, its gold :) Also hard to see, the black parts of the patterned paper are sort of shiny like black foil.

MGM blue! *DCWV Marquee

If you have ever scrapbooked Disney photos, you know the struggle of finding blue paper. I don't mean teal or aqua because every collection has those, but actual BLUE. Think Sorcerers hat blue. Well, I have recently been going back and trying to scrap the rest of my first trip with my guys to DisneyWorld and I found these photos. It was the year of the celebration that was the reason for the hat at MGM studios and I am so glad I have photos from a few trips since it was recently removed.

There is a new collection by DCWV called the Marquee stack that is totally the right blue and will even work for all of those Frozen photos you have because it has light blue and lavender as well. Check it out HERE.

I used the background paper and the blue glittered dot paper from that stack, along with lots of other DCWV papers and vellum from other stacks. If you haven't already notice, I love the gold foil vellum stacks. This chevron vellum is from the 6x6 Foiled Vellum stack. I also punched some stars from gold foil on white paper in the Luxe Stack.  And I found the little mickey punched from cardstock in one of my drawers. I don't even have that punch. It must be from like 10 years ago. LOL!

Today is Sketchy Thursday at Scraptastic Club. Since the site is undergoing a major upgrade right now, check them out on Facebook to see examples from our Design Team and to play along! Click Here to see the SKETCH from Sketch Savvy.

For my page I used the September "Centerfield" kit and add on kit from Scraptastic Club

I just love the puffy letter stickers in this kit that look like cork
